Shakthi Thirumagan release date: Directed by Arun Prabhu Purushottaman, the film will be a political thriller

We at OTTplay were the first to report that actor and composer Vijay Antony's upcoming film Shakthi Thirumagan will hit theatres in September. The makers on Thursday confirmed the same and locked the release date as September 5.

Vijay Antony was last seen in crime thriller Maargan which is currently running in theatres. Besides this, the actor and composer is also starring in the upcoming Tamil film titled Shakthi Thirumagan which will be written and directed by Arun Prabhu Purushottaman.

On Thursday, it was announced that the film will hit theatres on September 5. Already two Tamil films have locked the same release date, one being debutant Varsha Bharath’s Bad Girl and other is Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss’ Madharasi. It is to be noted that Shakthi Thirumagan was first titled Parasakthi, but Vijay Antony had let go of the title after Sivakarthikeyan’s film with director Sudha Kongara was also announced with the same name.

Shakthi Thirumagan will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam as well. The cast includes actors Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kriplani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, and child actor Master Keshav, among others, in prominent roles. Besides headlining the film, Vijay Antony will also score the music and produce under his home banner, Vijay Antony Film Production. The technical crew includes editor Raymond Derrick Crasta is the editor, and cinematographer Shelley Calist.

Maargan OTT partner

Vijay Antony’s latest film is Maargan which is running in theatres. The film, which is a detective fiction, features Ajay Dhishan, Samuthirakani, Brigida Saga, Mahanathi Shankar, Prithika, Vinodh Sagar and others. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, with an OTT release date yet to be announced.

Maargan is about a series of killings that take place in a strange manner, after which police narrow down on a swimmer who has a supernatural ability and gift of photogenic power.
