Spa director Abrid Shine shares disappointing update on Nivin Pauly's Action Hero Biju 2

Noted Malayalam film director Abrid Shine joined hands with actor Nivin Pauly for Action Hero Biju, which won much appreciation. The sequel to the cop movie was announced and the makers started working on it, only for the film to get stalled. The director, who is now awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Spa, spoke about the Action Hero Biju 2, but the update would be disappointing for fans of Nivin Pauly's film

What Abrid Shine said about Action Hero Biju 2

Helmed by Abrid Shine, Action Hero Biju released in 2016 and starred Nivin Pauly in the titular role of the cop. Though a sequel was announced after the movie found much acceptance, the film got stalled due to legal issues. In a chat with Movie World Media, Abrid Shine said that it was a movie he wanted to do.

"We had started Action Hero Biju 2 but due to certain technical reasons, the film unfortunately got stalled. It was a film I wanted to make. It might happen someday... I hope," Abrid Shine remarked.

The sequel film has been caught in a legal crossfire with tussles over its ownership. Actor Nivin Pauly had claimed that the film’s rights rested with his company, while producer Shamnas too staked claim for the movie.

On the other hand, Abrid Shine's upcoming film Spa has received an A-certificate and will release in theatres on Friday.

Earlier, Nivin Pauly had said that Action Hero Biju 2 would happen but Abrid Shine’s recent remarks do not sound very encouraging.
