Custody, starring Naga Chaitanya, is gearing up for a release in Tamil and Telugu. The Venkat Prabhu directorial marks the former's Tamil debut and the latter's Telugu debut. The trailer of the action drama was released yesterday in both the languages and fans of the actor-filmmaker duo have pinned high hopes.

The film is expected to be a comeback for Chaitanya as his previous outing Thank You didn't meet expectations. Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu was a huge hit, but his last outing Manmadha Leelai ended up as an average fare. The music composed by Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja is expected to be one of the highlights of the movie produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi.

Many actors and filmmakers from Kollywood heaped praise on the film's trailer and wished success to the team. Suriya was one among them; he addressed Venkat as "captain cool" and welcomed Chaitanya to Kollywood. He tweeted, "Hearty wishes to an all star team led by Captain Cool @vp_offl. Rock on guys! Welcome to Tamil cinema! @chay_akkineni (sic)."

Suriya had worked with Venkat in Massu Engira Masilamani in 2015 and shares a good rapport with the Akkineni family for many years. An elated Chaitanya replied to his tweet, "Thank you so much sir .. your wishes mean a lot (sic)."

SJ Suryah, Mohan Raja, Vishnu Vishal, CS Amudhan and Suresh Kamatchi among others are notable celebs who went gaga over the trailer of Custody. The bilingual flick, which is hitting screens on May 12, stars Arvind Swami, Sarath Kumar and Priyamani among others.
