The OTT platform JioHotstar on February 5 put out a poster of The Raja Saab, stating that “Due to unforeseen circumstances and last-minute technical glitches, we’ve added the extended cut!”
Earlier, there were reports that the makers have reedited the Maruthi directorial ahead of the OTT release after it got trolled and faced a huge backlash from the viewers.
The Raja Saab hit theatres on January 9, 2026, as the big Sankranthi release from Telugu cinema. But the Prabhas-starrer will make its OTT release on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium on February 6. The short window of less than a month between the theatrical release and digital debut is the clear indication of how poorly Prabhas starrer has performed at the box office.
Apart from the Telugu version, The Raja Saab will also release in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. However, there is currently no word on The Raja Saab Hindi digital release.
Despite its disastrous box office run, The Raja Saab is expected to find takers in the digital space.
The Raja Saab stars Prabhas in the lead role of Raju, who sets out to find his grandfather to fulfil his grandmother’s wish. However, the journey takes him to a haunted mansion.
Despite the presence of Prabhas and three leading ladies -Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, the film was panned by audiences and critics.
