Thudakkam: Mohanlal says ‘not family film’ as daughter Vismaya’s debut movie launched

Iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal stood before the media as a proud father as his daughter Vismaya’s debut film Thudakkam was launched. The entire Mohanlal family, including his wife, his son Pranav and Vismaya, was on stage along with his frequent collaborator Antony Perumbavoor whose production house, Aashirvad Cinemas, is backing the project. Mohanlal on Vismaya’s Thudakkam

Thudakkam, starring Vismaya Mohanlal in the lead role, was launched at a grand event held in Kochi on October 30, 2025. Jude Anthany Joseph, who has helmed popular films like 2018 and Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, directs Thudakkam. While wishing the very best to his daughter, Mohanlal also introduced - Ashish Antony, the son of Antony Perumbavoor.

“I would like to call one more person onto the stage Ashish Antony, who plays a key role in the film. I am not saying that this has turned into a family film. When the film was scripted, I asked if he could do one character. He has done a small role in another film. Plays football really well and also does martial arts,” Mohanlal remarked. Probably anticipating counter questions, the veteran actor added that acting is not just about these. Ashish Antony previously made a brief appearance in Mohanlal’s Empuraan, where he played the son of Antony’s character. Mohanlal himself will reportedly feature in the film.

On the other hand, Thudakkam crew details are revealed during the event. Jakes Bejoy, who is winning much applause for his music in the blockbuster Lokah, has been roped in as the composer. Jomon T John is the DOP, while Chaman Chacko is the editor. Yannick Ben and Stunt Silva are in charge of stunt choreography.
