After sharing screen space in Petta with Rajinikanth, actor Vijay Sethupathi will once again star alongside the superstar in the upcoming film Jailer 2. With the production underway, it will be the first time Vijay Sethupathi will be acting in Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction.
In a recent interview to Galatta Plus, Vijay Sethupathi spoke about his participation in Jailer 2. "It is completely for my selfish reasons. I love working alongside Rajini sir. I have admired him and they continue to surprise me, be it onscreen and public appearances. When I was a general audience, they were just actors to me. Their efforts, thought process, sincerity, responsibility, presentation and all did not come across to me when I was just movie goer. But when I work alongside them, their efforts come across huge to me,” the actor said.

Vijay Sethupathi is also starring Arasan, the upcoming second instalment from filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai universe. Headlined by Silambarasan, Arasan is on floors now. Being very candid, Vijay Sethupathi said, "To be honest, I have no clue what I am playing. I did not even sign the film. Vetri sir asked me if I can act, and I said yes.” He further went on to tell how Vetrimaaran does not call actors for the sake of it, and thinks twice before approaching someone. It is to be noted that Vijay Sethupathi had already appeared in Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai duology.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi’s Kaattaan will release on JioHotstar on March 27. Billed to be a rural actioner, the series is created by director Manikandan.
