Kaantha, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, was scheduled to be released on Friday (September 12), but has been postponed. But given that the team was silent on the promotions, it was almost certain that Kaantha had been postponed. However, the makers officially confirmed that Kaantha has been pushed further with a new release date yet to be announced.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan is currently basking in the success of his latest production, Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. The superhero fantasy drama has been making the right kind of noise everywhere, and Dulquer, along with his team, is relentlessly travelling across to promote Lokah. Amid this, Dulquer Salmaan’s next, Kaantha, which was supposed to have released on September 12, is getting pushed.

In a statement, the makers of Kaantha said, “We've been truly moved by the love and support you've shown since the release of our teaser. It truly means the world to us and pushes us to give you our very best. With the resounding success of Lokah, we want Chandra's rampage in the box office to keep soaring.”

A release date is yet to be announced for Kaantha. However, as per reports, Kaantha might join the Diwali race.

Kaantha is a period drama in which Dulquer plays the role of a famous actor which is rumoured to be based on the first Tamil superstar MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. The film will revolve around the egoistic actor who pokes his nose into the script of a filmmaker and fashions the story in such a way that the female-centric film revolves around the male lead. Actors Samuthirakani and Bhagyashrii Borse play prominent parts in the film directed by Selvamani Selvaraj.

Meanwhile, Dulquer’s production Lokah has successfully collected Rs 200 crore. The Kalyani Priyadarshan-led project, also stars Naslen, Sandy and others, with Tovino Thomas, Dulquer and a bunch of other stars making cameos.
