Jasprit Bumrah's stunning spell of 33/1 in four overs, Axar Patel's two match-winning catches, and Hardik Pandya's two wickets took India to their fourth T20 World Cup final after Sanju Samson's 89 off 42 balls with the bat. Bethell fought hard for England

While chasing a big score like 254 and losing three wickets within the powerplay England looked to fall behind in the match. But it was Jacob Bethell's fighting knock that kept them in the match.

The young left-hander hit three consecutive sixes against Varun Chakravarthy (64/1) to get his innings going, and before anyone could blink, he reached his fifty in just 19 balls.

Tom Banton (17 off 5) got a good start, but Axar Patel removed him in the 8th over, to somehow stop the momentum. However, Will Jacks, who has been England's best player in the tournament, joined Bethell to keep the run rate close to 11 for England.

Axar Patel's stunning catch removed Jacks

Axar, who had already taken a great catch to send back Harry Brook, assisted in a boundary line catch to Shivam Dube, to dismiss a dangerous-looking Will Jacks on 35 off 20 balls.

Sam Curran (18 off 14), who had bailed out England a few times in this T20 World Cup, tried his best but could not score off Bumrah's accuracy.

Bumrah became the differentiator

In a chase where nearly 500 runs were scored, it was Jasprit Bumrah's 33/1 in 4 overs that became the difference. Bowling the 16th and 18th overs, the Indian pacer gave away only 8 and 6 runs respectively with accurate yorkers and hard length to take the game further away from England.

Hardik Pandya (38/2) then gave away only 9 runs in the 19th over to hand 30 runs for Shivam Dube to defend. Eventually, India won the game by 7 runs and qualified for their 4th T20 World Cup final and will meet New Zealand on Sunday in Ahmedabad, where they will look to become the first team to successfully defend the title.
