While chasing a big score of 254, England had to go for big shots from the word go. Jos Buttler, who has not had a great run in the tournament, hit two boundaries against Arshdeep Singh in the first over.
But it was Hardik Pandya, who removed Phil Salt (5) with an outswinger. England captain Harry Brook joined Buttler in the middle as the latter looked to get going in the semi-final.
In a chase like this, everyone knew that Jasprit Bumrah's 4 overs would be crucial for India, and the Indian pacer proved that right by dismissing Harry Brook with a slower ball on the first ball of his spell. Axar Patel took a stunning running catch to dismiss the England captain and turn the powerplay to India's favour.
