= 10. Suresh Raina, Ishan Kishan, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma | 16 balls

Interestingly, four left-handers hold the record for the 10th fastest IPL fifties in history.

Suresh Raina, while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), scored a 16-ball fifty against Kings XI Punjab in the second qualifier of the IPL 2014 in Mumbai. Rain went to score 87 from 25 balls in the match, where CSK lost the match.

Ishan Kishan then matched Raina’s record while playing a blistering inning for the Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021 in Abu Dhabi. The left-handed opener scored 84 from 32 balls in a win for the Mumbai Indians.

In 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma equalled the record with 16-ball fifties. Head matched the record twice - once against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi, and another time in Hyderabad against Lucknow Super Giants. Meanwhile, his partner in crime, Abhishek Sharma, also scored a 16-ball fifty in Hyderabad against the Mumbai Indians.

=5. Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Jake Fraser-McGurk | 15 balls

Yusuf Pathan once had the record for the fastest IPL fifty in history with his 15-ball half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Kolkata while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014. Pathan scored 72 from 22 balls as KKR won by 4 wickets.

Another KKR stalwart, Sunil Narine, shocked everyone with a 15-ball fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore in 2017. West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran repeated the same feat against RCB in 2023 while playing for Lucknow Super Giants. LSG went on to win the match by 1 wicket, where Avesh Khan created one of the most talked-about celebrations.

Jake Fraser-McGurk matched the same feat twice in IPL 2024 - once against Sunrisers Hyderabad and again against Mumbai Indians.

=2 KL Rahul, Pat Cummins, Romario Shepherd | 14 balls

KL Rahul, while playing for Kings XI Punjab, broke the record for the fastest IPL fifty by an opener when he scored a 14-ball fifty against Delhi Capitals in 2018.

Pat Cummins then equalled his record by playing a once-in-a-blue-moon unbeaten 15-ball 56 against the Mumbai Indians - as KKR chased down 162 in 16 overs.

Romario Shepherd then nearly broke his record when he scored a 14-ball fifty to help RCB win CSK, where he hit 6 sixes in 14 balls.

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal | 13 balls

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal broke the record for the fastest IPL fifty in history with a 13-ball fifty against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013 in Kolkata.

Jaiswal scored 48-ball 97 as Rajasthan chased down 150 in just 13.1 overs in one of the fastest chases in IPL history.
