While actors now strive to redefine age-old norms and break the glass ceilings above them, one actor who has been doing the same in the commercial space for years, demanding the recognition she deserves, if not equal to her male counterparts, is Raveena Tandon. Over her career spanning decades at this point, the actor has delivered some of the most loved movies of all time, and her fans and audience are thankful. Another aspect that she gracefully embraces in the new phase of her career is accepting age on camera. Karmma Calling, released on Disney+ Hotstar, is another show where she continues to do the same.

Raveena Tandon On Accepting Age

In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay to promote her latest OTT show, she also spoke about the struggle and hard work that have brought her to a point where she can accept her age on screen without worrying about the audience's reaction. Raveena is thankful to her fans and audience who have embraced her and the diverse characters she has portrayed over the years. In the same conversation, she also addressed the judgments she has faced over the years.

In the candid conversation, when asked about accepting age after coming from a time where age was a ticking bomb for female stars, Raveena Tandon exclusively said, “Yes, it feels great. It feels like a culmination of years of hard work that you have put in, the struggle that you have endured. Nothing comes easy in our industry, and of course, there are people waiting to pass judgment and evaluate you at every given step. So, I think somewhere along the line, hard work, my perseverance, my honesty to my work, and my sincerity have paid off. And like I tell people, the story is not over yet; this is probably just another beginning. There is a lot to do, a lot more and many more miles to walk before I sleep.”

Raveena Tandon On Judgements

When asked if those judgments that came her way ever held her back in any way, Raveena Tandon was quick to answer, “I don’t think so. I don’t live my life for other people; I live my life for myself and my family, and that is what matters to me the most. Yes, I do have a certain moral responsibility, and I know there are expectations from me as a public figure, and I adhere to that, I respect that. But beyond that, that’s what I owe to society that has given me my name, fame, and everything I have today.”
