Popular singer Atif Aslam is all set to make his south Indian playback debut, with the upcoming Malayalam film titled Haal. The film stars RDX-fame actor Shane Nigam in the lead role, and will be a romantic musical entertainer.
Atif Aslam to sing for Malayalam film
Singer Atif Aslam who has crooned songs like Pehle Nazar, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, is going to make his south Indian debut with the upcoming Malayalam film Haal. Music for Haal is scored by debutant composer Nandhagopan V.
Speaking to OTTplay, a source on the condition of anonymity said, “Atif Aslam will be singing one track from Haal. The recording took place in abroad and has been wrapped up this month. Everyone in the team had Atif Aslam’s voice in mind because of its unique vocals and the memorable soulful songs he has given us in the past. So naturally, he was the first choice and reached out to him.”

The female vocals are said to be rendered by a renowned artist. Mridul Meer and Neeraj Kumar are the lyricists.
It may be noted that, Atif is making a comeback to Indian film industry after seven years. The ban on Pakistani artists performing in India was lifted by Bombay HC in October 2023.
More about Haal
The source further added that Haal will go on floors in Kozhikode, Kerala on May 5. It is touted to be a romantic musical entertainer, featuring Vaidhya Sakshi as the female lead, in her Malayalam debut. Haal is directed by debutant filmmaker Prashanth Vijayakumar.
The technical crew consists of Sreejith Sarang as the editor, with Prasanth Madhav handling the art direction. Nishad Koya is the writer. The film is produced by JVJ Productions and expected to release in 2024. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Shane is currently set to make his Tamil debut with the upcoming film Madraskaran. The film is directed by Vaali Mohan Das and has Niharika Konidela play the female lead. The comedy thriller will also feature Kalaiyarasan, Pandiarajan, Karunas and Aishwarya Dutta in key roles.
