Picture Perfect Mysteries: Dead Over Diamonds

Photographer ALLIE ADAMS is photographing a invitation-only event hosted by the Midnight Art Gallery when a priceless necklace from art collector James Risand's personal collection is stolen. The gallery now a crime scene, DETECTIVE SAM ACOSTA, discovers that the security cameras are missing footage of the theft. The guests are searched, but the necklace is not recovered. After James Risand threatens to ruin the reputation of Camille Bennett, Noah's mother and the gallery's owner, Noah enlists Allie's help in pieces together the events of that night. The pair start with GRIFF RICKARD, the gallery's former security guard. Griff has an axe to grind with Camille after his untimely firing. Meanwhile, Sam welcomes the arrival of his uncle LUIS ACOSTA, a retired police officer who has agreed to help Sam with his renovations. Luis finds old police files from the disappearance of GABRIELLE RUSSELL, a NYC DA who went missing on Sam's watch. Sam's own investigation leads him and his partner NICK to GAVIN CARMICHAEL, a local pickpocket. Sam determines the thief would have needed to lift Camille's security card to access the necklace, and Gavin is brought in for questioning. His wife provides an alibi for that night. With the help of MAYA, Allie and Noah zero in on GWENDOLYN COMBS, a guest that night with a personal history with the necklace. It had once belonged to her great grandmother. Gwendolyn wasnot invited to the event but was the date of THOMAS WAKE. Allie and Noah talk their way into his home, to find him dead. As Sam and Allie follow the clues, more suspects arise. CLINT BAXTER, a bon vivant with a mysterious past. And PATRICKRISAND, James' younger brother who was cut out of the family fortune. Maya discovers that an elderly man who had suffered a heart attack at the gallery was in fact a hired actor who believed he was cast in an onsite performance art. Hetells Allie that the woman who hired him had concealed a tattoo on her wrist. Allie meets hotshot reporter DANIEL DRAKE as he covers the burglary for the Providence Gazette. Allie follows him after he receives a tip to stakeout the localmarina, where the stolen necklace will be fenced. When no one shows, Daniel assumes his source was wrong and leaves. Alone, Allie stumbles on the thief - or thieves: Patrick, Clint and Griff. The three, with the help of Gavin and Thomas, were in cahoots. Allie is discovered, but not before sending an SOS to Sam. He arrives just in time to save Allie and capture the thieves. Back at the station, the group confesses and explain how the heist was pulled off. When James Risand's personal assistant REBECCA comes to identify the necklace, Allie spots a small tattoo on her wrist. Sam and Nick make a late-night run to James Risand's estate to arrest him - the true mastermind of the theft. He stood to make a great deal of money through insurance fraud. Allie and Sam had agreed to a would-be date at a coffee shop, but Allie's near-death experience brought up old ghosts for Sam. It's revealed that Gabrielle Russell was at one point his fiancee.Alone at the cafe, Allie runs into Daniel, and the two have coffee.
