Animal's non-holiday triumph sets new benchmarks in Bollywood.
On the final day of the week, Animal maintained its outstanding performance and collected Rs. 22.50 crore nett, continuing its magical run. Fantastically, given the film's high level of revenues, the Ranbir Kapoor-starring violent drama has shown comparable declines over the weekdays of roughly 15%.
Record-breaking opening week
As per reports in Box Office India, in its opening week, which typically runs from Friday to Thursday and does not include any vacations, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film has earned a net of Rs. 289 crore. Even without the benefit of the holiday season, it is the best first-week collection ever. The film's A certification has likely not been a major deterrent, especially with the increasing number of female viewers.
Moreover, the receipts in Delhi and UP will be approximately Rs. 60 crore nett, while those in the Mumbai circuit will be close to Rs. 80 crore nett. With the exception of Gadar 2, which had a holiday in the middle of the week and a tremendous collection on that day.
Crucial second Friday
The second Friday is crucial if Animal wants to stay on track for the Rs. 500 crore nett; with ticket prices going up again, it has a chance at an unprecedented second Friday, which would be the highest of all time.
Below are the first week's figures for Animal in Hindi:
Friday: Rs. 52.50 crore
Saturday: Rs. 56 crore
Sunday: Rs. 61 crore
Monday: Rs. 38 crore
Tuesday: Rs. 32.50 crore
Wednesday: Rs. 26.50 crore
Thursday: Rs. 22.50 crore
TOTAL: Rs. 289 crore
Meanwhile, Animal has become the highest-grossing A-rated (adults only) Indian film of all time, earning roughly 527.52 crore rupees globally. It is also the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023, the 20th highest-grossing Indian film overall, and the sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.
Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri in pivotal roles.
