Bebika Dhurve: I have started an entirely new life in the UAE … away from my India

Every year’s Gudi Padwa definitely brings with it loads and loads of good news for everyone. This year’s Gudi Padwa is no different, esp. for the ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ actress Bebika Dhurve. For the uninitiated, Bebika Dhurve, besides being a model and actress, was also one of the top 15 contestants in the prestigious ‘Miss India' competition.

Speaking exclusively to OTTplay about her 'Gudi Padwa' plans for th is year, Bebika Dhurve said, “Gudi Padwa’ in Maharashtra and Yugadi in Karnataka. For me, it marked the commencement of spring, the New Year, and new beginnings. It is a festival signifying that Lord Brahma created the universe and time. I make sure that on Gudi Padwa, I grow as a new, evolved person. I have started an entirely new life in the UAE… away from my motherland India. That’s why; I consider that 'Gudi Padwa' has been a special sign given to me by the universe. That’s why we all will be celebrating it wholeheartedly with my friends here."

Spilling more beans about ‘Gudi Padwa’, Bebika says, "We, Maharashtrians, celebrate ‘Gudi Padwa’ with love and integrity. My mother and grandmother used to prepare the ‘Padwa dvaja’, a plate decorated with silk cloth, neem leaves, mango garlands, a copper vessel, worship, and dance, and they had the saying, 'Gudi Padwa neet bol Wadhwa.' We used to tell each other this and laugh."

On the professional front, a little birdie told us that Bebika Dhurve has now bagged an extremely prestigious international project. And, that also kind of explains the reason as to why is she busy shooting in Dubai. When we prodded her about more details, Bebika Dhurve said that, “I am not saying anything at this very moment. All that I can tell you is that I promise to OTTplay that, whenever I sign up my next project, you guys will be the first to know. That’s a Pinky Promise. And those who know me will vouch for the fact that, I am known to keep up my promises... come what may!”.
