Some pairings in cinema are eternal. This includes Chris Evans as a superhero, Ethan Hawke as a chocolate boy, Ryan Reynolds with sarcasm, and Gerard Butler with accidents. Well, the latter is certainly true, and you would be aware of this if you had followed the star for just the past two years and not even before that. Butler, who has carved a niche in the action genre, is one of the most sought-after stars among filmmakers who venture into this genre. However, one thing that also follows the star is accidents, some of the most serious ones. By his own admission, he calls himself a clumsy person, and the fact that he is a revered action star doesn't quite go hand in hand. Last week, we told you how the star accidentally rubbed phosphoric acid on his face while filming Plane, which streams on Lionsgate Play and can be seen with your OTTplay Premium subscription.

Gerard Butler's Story About Copshop

This week, we bring you a new story and trust us, there are many more. The actor will now be seen in Copshop, set to make its digital premiere in India on Lionsgate Play. The movie, another action adventure that has him at the centre, experienced a filming process that was not as smooth as one might expect. According to reports, the actor witnessed not one, but three stuntmen get injured on the same day on the set in a scene that involved him. Read on to learn everything you should about the same.

Talking about his incidental method acting story to Metro, Gerard Butler recalled the day when the three stuntmen were left injured. “I was fighting one stunt guy, and he smacked his head on the lockers and his head split open, just because of where it was,” Butler recalls. “He’s a friend of mine, by the way, and I’ve worked with him before, and he was totally cool about it, but there was just so much blood coming out.”

Gerard Butler further explained how the second incident wasn't his fault at all. He said the stuntman bashed his head when he was expected to move a certain way, cutting it open. But the third is the most shocking one because it involves a stun gun. “Ryan [O’Nan], for another role, has quite a big belly; he had to put on quite a lot of weight for that. So the pad – because these things have spikes in them – came up, and his belly was sticking out, and I shot him,” Butler says. “It’s in the middle of it, I’m doing a lot of different stuff to him, so I’m just thinking he’s going, ‘Argh!’ and he’s crawling away, which he’s supposed to do, and we finished the take, and he’s like, ‘The fucking spike is stuck in me!’”

However, Gerard Butler even went on to confess that he rarely hurts anyone while filming action sequences for his films, but this particular time, he even considered retirement.
