Later this month, David Letterman's Emmy-nominated My Next Guest Needs No Introduction will feature a special appearance by John Mulaney, who has won three Emmys. They will talk about addiction, parenting, and stand-up comedy at a Chicago high school where Mulaney went to school.
In its four seasons, Letterman has interviewed many famous people, such as Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Billie Eilish, Jay-Z, Malala Yousafzai, and former president Barack Obama. Shah Rukh Khan is the only Indian superstar to feature on the Netflix show. When SRK and Dave met up in Mumbai and New York, the superstar opened up about his family, his meteoric climb to stardom, and his millions of admirers across the globe.
Meanwhile, Obama reflected on political tensions and his family's life after the White House, whereas George Glooney opened up about his humanitarian work, courting wife Amal, and his failed baseball dreams. On the other hand, Jay-Z talked candidly about his past in the streets, his family struggles, and racial injustice. Moreover, from a Taliban attack to a Nobel Prize to Oxford, Malala walked Dave through her extraordinary journey, her life's mission, and her new home.
Over the four seasons, Robert Downey Jr. also made an appearance and opened up about his showbiz childhood, addictions, and comeback, as did Kanye West, who opened up about family, bipolar disorder, his Sunday service gatherings, and the backlash over his support for Trump. Kim Kardashian also walked Dave through key moments from her life, including the O.J. trial, a Paris robbery, her law studies, and a White House visit.
Not just that, Letterman visited Kyiv, Ukraine, to have an intimate and thought-provoking discussion with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In another solo episode, Ryan Reynolds discussed his childhood in Canada, acting career, fatherhood, and passion for Welsh football while making pizza for Dave.
April 30 is the premiere date for the special standalone episode on Netflix.
