Recap of Season 1 and Plot of Season 2 of Extraordinary

Extraordinary follows the story of Jen, a 25-year-old woman who lives a frustrated and ordinary existence in an extraordinary world. And that’s what makes her extraordinary or special, though she does not think so. Jen is born in a reality where everyone gets a superpower when they turn 18, from cool powers like reading minds or turning invisible to weird ones like making people orgasm simply by touch and adding background music to any situation at will.

However, she is 25 and still without one. Season 1 saw her battling with reality, trying different procedures to invoke her latent powers, being disheartened watching her younger sister turn into a young she-hulk minus the greenery immediately after turning 18, and going to clinics to discover her powers. Though her attempts were unsuccessful, she found several other valuable things along the way, like love, true friendship, and fun misadventures with sobering lessons.

Since Season 1 ended with cliffhangers regarding Jen’s powers and her budding relationship with the amnesiac Jizzlord, her pet cat and a man who lost his memory just before the metamorphosis and remembers little of his previous life. But when he is recognised by a lady and her son, with the latter exclaiming, "dad," there is bound to be drama and heartbreak.

Season 2’s trailer shows Jen searching for her powers and practicing with a power coach to speed things up. Jen’s previous season introduction of her new boyfriend to her mother Mary goes a little awry when Jizzlord’s feline senses fail to pick up on the tension and he ends up blurting out the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Meanwhile, Kash and Carrie are trying to not be awkward while still living together after breaking up, and Jizzlord is finding it harder to cope with being a feline. With so many plot angles to explore and so many adventures to go on, Jen, Kash, Carrie, and Jizzlord cannot afford to waste time and must arrive onscreen as soon as possible to satisfy our bingeing urge.

Cast of Extraordinary Season 2

Extraordinary Season 2 will see the return of Máiréad Tyers as Jen, Luke Rollason as Jizzlord, Bilal Hasna as Kash, Sofia Oxenham as Carrie, Siobhán McSweeney as Mary and Robbie Gee as Ian, Jen’s mom and stepdad. Season 2 will also see new additions Julian Barrett as Jen’s new power coach, Rosa Robson as Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past, Kwaku Mills as Clark, Carrie’s new work colleague, and Sir Derek Jacobi in a special, unrevealed cameo role.
