The world has been obsessing over the John Wick franchise led by Keanu Reeves for a decade now. The movies that have the man who is avenging the death of his dog are one of the most loved across the world, and there is so much love that they keep receiving even on streaming platforms. The last film in the franchise was John Wick: Chapter 4, which ended with the possibility that this is the last time we see Wick as he almost succumbs to his injury and is fighting for life.

New John Wick Spinoff Announced!

While we are still not over the crazy ride that John Wick: Chapter 4 was, we are now being treated to the news that a John Wick spinoff has now been greenlit and is confirmed to happen. The central character is none other than Caine, played by Donnie Yen. Yes, you read that right; this new spinoff talks about Caine, who has had an open end in the climax of Chapter 4. But is there a chance we would know what happened to John Wick in this spinoff? Read on to learn everything you should know about this massive update of the day.

While there is not much revealed about the Donnie Yen-led Caine John Wick spinoff, one thing is confirmed: it takes place in the future. There is a possibility that the movie will centre around the conflict between Caine and Akira because their dynamic has received the most attention in the storyline around Caine. Even in the climax, we saw Akira coming back to take revenge on Yen's character. With the spinoff set in the future, there is a high chance that the plot will revolve around this conflict.

Is John Wick Alive?

There was no confirmation whether John dies at the end of Chapter 4 or if he is alive to jump to Chapter 5. But the spinoff starring Donnie Yen can solve that mystery for all of us. As it is set in the future, it can easily have an arc that explains what happened to John Wick, if there is a Chapter 5, and how this vehicle moves ahead if he is dead by any chance. Of course, no one yet knows if this is a part of the spinoff plot or not, but one thing is sure: it will have to address the leading man of the franchise as to where he is in the scheme of things.
