In the run-up to the OTT release of Challenging Star Darshan’s Kaatera, the team has been dropping the full video of its hit songs
Only days ago, the full video of Pasandaagavne from Kaatera, a song featuring Aradhanaa serenading Challenging Star Darshan, yet another number is out in its entirety. This time around, it is the romantic dance number Yava Janumada Gelathi that’s made its way to the public domain, ahead of the film’s February 9 OTT outing. The song by Hemanth Kumar and Rakshitha Suresh is a V Harikrishna composition. The highlight, of course, is the lead pair, as they romance against picturesque backdrops and bust a few moves as well.
On February 9, Kaatera will release on Zee5 in the Kannada version only. The satellite and digital rights of Darshan’s year-ender blockbuster had been picked up by Zee Network prior to the film’s theatrical release. Interestingly, most of the actor’s more recent films had all gone to Amazon Prime Video, so this acquisition came as a surprise. It turned out to be a good investment for the network, considering that the film has not only done well theatrically, but continues to have a good buzz around it.
There are different figures doing the rounds about Kaatera’s box office numbers, but there is no denying that the film directed by Tharun Kishore Sudhir is a bonafide hit. It came as quite the relief to Darshan too, who began 2023 with Kranti, which despite the team’s claims, did not do well at the box office. Fans had a few anxious moments initially, when the first poster sparked rumours that it was a Dhanush film remake, and the film’s 70s story not inspiring much confidence.
However, the fact that Tharun was at the helm of affairs allayed some of these fears, that even with an experimental subject, he would present the Challenging Star in the best manner possible. The film’s biggest strength turned out to the story and the fact that instead of highlighting his leading man’s star power, Tharun decided to bring back the performer in him.
Meanwhile, Darshan is currently working on his next with director Prakash Veer, best known as Milana Prakash. Not much is known about the film called Devil just yet, but the maker has promised a first look on the occasion of the actor’s birthday on February 16.
