However, Kartik proved his acting prowess and nailed the role and the film also became a box office success. The actor, who has given us successful films including Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, SatyaPrem Ki Katha, and Pati Patni Aur Woh, among others, is now all set to collaborate with Sooraj Barjayta. Kartik Aaryan is the new 'Prem' for Rajshri?
Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, who has delivered superhit films with Salman Khan, including Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!, and Hum Sath Santh Hain, among others, was all set to collaborate with the superstar one more time. However, when things didn't work out with the actor, as he was not looking to star in a romantic film, the director was on the lookout for another actor. And now, according to Pinkvilla, he is in talks with none other than Kartik Aaryan.
A source says that the film, which is set in nuclear families, will have Kartik as the new-age on-screen Prem. Yes! You heard that right. The actor might replace Salman Khan's iconic character in Barjatya's next. The source was quoted as saying by the portal, “Sooraj Barjatya is on the lookout for an actor who brings in a sense of innocence on the screen and feels that Kartik has it in him to be the new-age on-screen Prem. The things are in a very preliminary stage at this point in time.”
While the conversations for the film have already begun, the director-actor will have their next meeting after Kartik's upcoming film, Chandu Champion, is released. The source also revealed that the actor was interested in doing the film when he heard the idea; however, he is waiting to ready the entire script before finalising anything. "There will be a clear picture on the casting of Sooraj Barjatya’s next by Mid-July, once the full-fledged narration takes place,” the source added.
Well, it looks like the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor has now become a go-to actor for multiple filmmakers when it comes to targeting young audiences.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is currently gearing up for the release of Chandu Champion. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is all set to release on 14th June 2024.
