Last night, when part 2 of the Bigg Boss Kannada 10 grand finale was underway and it was revealed that Vinay Gowda did not make it to the top 3 and that speculated winner Sangeetha Sringeri was eventually only in third position, several audiences were shocked that Drone Pratap was in the top 2. While Pratap did not win the show, with Karthik Mahesh taking the title, it was revealed that the former had well over 2 crore votes to his credit.
Earlier today, Bigg Boss Kannada host Sudeep decided to have a quick #AskKichcha session on X, during which one user addressed the general perception that Pratap was not a deserving top 2 finalist. The netizen wondered how Sudeep, as host, remained cool and composed on stage in the wake of such ‘fakeness’. Without stoking controversy, Sudeep responded that it would be unfair to not appreciate Pratap for making it to the top 2.
When Pratap came to Bigg Boss Kannada, he was among the contestants who’d been placed on hold for the lack of votes in support of his participation. Yet, he was allowed into the house and was one of 19 contestants of the milestone 10th season. For the most part of the season, Pratap was like a punching bag, at the receiving end of taunts by Vinay Gowda, Snehith Gowda, among others, about his false claims about drones.
It was alleged that Pratap used this ‘unfair’ treatment on the show to his advantage, by playing the ‘sympathy card’ throughout. As the victim, Pratap rarely responded to any aggression towards him and retreated to his own corner most of the time. His strained relationship with his parents, also became a major sympathy factor for Pratap, as the showrunners apparently helped him mend this bond.
Several netizens had remarked last night that Pratap was an undeserving finalist and that although the showrunners tried their best to avoid allegations of being a scripted show, the narrative was definitely in favour of Pratap at most times, they said.
