Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan Season 8 has been running successfully for many episodes now. The filmmaker managed to pull off an episode with record-breaking views last week that featured Ajay Devgn with his Singham director Rohit Shetty. The theme this season is family, and it turns out the next episode in line perfectly defines the same as Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and his mother, veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, are all set to grace the show.
About The Episode
While it was already rumoured that the two had shot for an episode, it has now been confirmed. The teaser for the show is that of a fun episode in which Saif is made to take the back seat and his mother, a legendary actor, is seen having the time of her life, giving some of the best answers. But the update from the episode is that Saif tapped into his vulnerable side as he spoke about the time Yash Chopra helped him and saved his career.

Saif Ali Khan was talking about the time he was not being offered any films, and he was told that nobody would work with him. It was then that the late filmmaker, Yash Chopra, stepped in as his saviour. “So there were a couple of offers, and they kind of dried up. Rahul Rawail told me that this is it. Nobody's going to work with you. And he was a bit sadistic, I must say, because he kind of enjoyed that. And I thought, okay, and they (offers) did dry up. And then Yash Chopraji called me over and he went over, and he said, 'I've heard you're very naughty, and you've got to give me your word.' He was casting Parampara with a lot of people in the movie,” Saif said.
“There was Aamir, Raveena, Neelam, and Vinod Khanna,” added Karan Johar. Saif Ali Khan continued, “Sunil Dutt too and I knew that this was a huge multi-starrer, and he wasn't finding someone (for a specific role). He met me and he said, 'You promised to be good.' That was pretty much it. And I said, 'Of course, I promise you I will be.' And he said, 'Okay, you're in the movie.' And overnight, the office started. And you know how it is. If Yash Chopra is casting, then everyone comes. The same people who had said, 'No, we're not interested,' were very interested now. So he saved me.”
