Singer Guru Randhawa is all set to make his acting debut with G Ashok-directed Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay. Starring the talented likes of Anupam Kher, Ira Alun, Paritosh Tripathi, as well as Telegu actress Saiee Manjrekar, who made her Hindi debut with Dabangg 3, the film dropped its teaser today. Guru Randhawa also revealed the teaser on his social media.

Guru Randhawa’s post and the teaser of Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay

The teaser trailer of Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay shows a new age love story in the traditional city of Agra. Unlike the ending to the love story of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, of which the Taj Mahal stands as a symbol, Guru Randhawa’s Majnu is determined to change the climax of his romance.

Both Guru Randhawa and the teaser have revealed a story that is seemingly sweet from the beginning, before having a sudden sour twist. Whether his love story with Saiee Manjrekar’s Laila is strong enough to get back on track or loses taste forever, is yet to be seen. The teaser also reveals the story’s romantic premise along with groovy musical numbers belted by the hero himself.

Teaser review of Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay

The teaser shows a blooming romance and mediocre chemistry between Randhawa and Manjrekar, from going on beachy walks to dancing in the rain to partying with champagne. Though Manjrekar does not appear to impress much in the teaser, Guru Randhawa and Anupam Kher stand out. Anupam Kher is iconic as always, with his sour and humorous comments on the hero in a scene of the teaser, while ordering mithai in a store.

Guru Randhawa too, grabs eyeballs while making his heroic but small-town, jugaadu (hustling) entry into the scene. Though belting dance numbers is his cup of tea, whether acting will be, is yet to be seen. But the singer’s brief acting stint does not appear half bad, leaving hope for its promised theatrical release on February 16, 2024.
