Released in 2023, very few people know about the film Lavaste. Although the trailer garnered over 5 million views on YouTube. Starring Omkar Kapoor in the lead, Lavaste tells an eccentric story about Satyansh, who graduated from an engineering college from Raipur, and later moved to Mumbai in search of a job. However, after struggling for almost a year, he gets the job in transporting unclaimed dead bodies to the crematory, and there discovers a social crisis.
After making its theatrical release, Lavaste is now coming soon on April 5, 2024, only on ZEE5. The story revolves around Satyansh’s unsettling new job, and his immense curiosities for the society, and its rules, regulations and patterns. He is seen spending days while thinking about how children can be so busy in life that they literally forget about their parents, that even their dead bodies remain unclaimed.
The trailer exhibits Satyansh's blood boil while thinking about all these evilness and sins. However, it gives a little hint about whether Satyansh is going through guilt trip for leaving his own parents behind the same way or not. The storyline mostly focuses on this significant social issue. Nevertheless, the makers have also tried to give a satirical vibe in the film to mock the society's tremendous needs and expectations.
Besides Omkar Kapoor, Lavaste also stars Manoj Joshi, Brijendra Kala, Shubhangi Latkar, Kurush Deboo, Aditya Verma and Rajesh Bonik.
Satyansh, a brilliant young man with a B.Tech degree, found himself in an unconventional line of work, collecting unclaimed dead bodies. The financial crisis threw his dreams of a tech career into the dustbin, and this was the only job he could find in a metropolitan city like Mumbai. Yet, amidst the harsh reality, Satyansh discovers an unexpected humanity in his task. As he lifted the nameless dead bodies, their silent stories unfold tales of isolation, ruptured families, and forgotten dreams. Later this became his unique mission to give voice to the voiceless.
