Shortly after the buzz surrounding BLACKPINK's contract renewal with YG Entertainment, a recent announcement revealed that members of the K-pop sensation — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa —won't be pursuing solo endeavours under the label.

A statement released by YG Entertainment disclosed, "Some time ago, YG Entertainment renewed BLACKPINK's contracts for the team's promotions as a group. We have now come to an agreement to not sign contracts for the members' individual promotions. YG Entertainment promises to support BLACKPINK's group activities with all available resources, while also cheering on the members' individual activities with a warm heart. Thank you."

Following this update, fervent discussions, particularly on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), led to the trending topic "Lisa is free."

This surge in online activity was prompted by recent criticisms during the "Born Pink World Tour," where the group faced backlash for perceived lacklustre performances, stage exits, and high ticket prices.

On November 3, 2022, foreign fans (Blinks) shared online videos and clips depicting BLACKPINK members appearing to forget their choreography, sparking dissatisfaction among the fan base. Even on YouTube, searches related to "BLACKPINK concert" encompassed terms like "mess" and "bad," indicating a range of opinions and discussions surrounding their performances.

Fans, especially those devoted to Lisa, asserted that the idol consistently brought more energy to her performances than her counterparts.

As for the other members, Jennie has already unveiled her new venture with her self-owned label, OA (ODDATELIER). Meanwhile, Jisoo is reportedly exploring opportunities to broaden her acting career, and industry insiders speculate that Lisa is in talks with an overseas agency for a potential contract.

Rosé's plans for 2024 remain undisclosed at the moment. Fans, also called Blinks, are eagerly awaiting further details about BLACKPINK's pursuits in the coming year.
