Maidaan box office collection day 5 - Amit Sharma's film, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, hit the silver screen on April 11, 2024 (paid previews on April 10). Ajay's sports drama opened to thunderous feedback from the critics and audiences. It also got a decent opening at the ticket window. However, the film fell flat on day five at the BO.

Amit Sharma on how Ajay Devgn agreed to do Maidaan

Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Amit Sharma opened up about how Ajay Devgn readily agreed to do his film, Maidaan. "Ajay sir said yes to Maidaan just by listening to the subject, there were no questions asked. However, I had my doubts about how Ajay Devgn will play the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. We often create an image in our minds, and in my head, his image was of Singham," he said.

The film has been backed by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor.
