Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has said that Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, will remind audiences of the simplicity of ageless Indian classics.

Shah Rukh Khan is having a great year. Following a five-year break, the superstar returned with two record-breaking films this year, Pathaan and Jawan. Even though fans still can't get over the blockbuster Jawan, they are getting even more excited about the release of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's film, Dunki. Mukesh Chhabra, the man in charge of the casting of this eagerly awaited movie, recently shared his opinion about it.
After Jawan and Pathaan, this will be Shah Rukh's third release of the year. Mukesh, who will be featured in the SonyLIV musical thriller Chamak next, spoke about the casting of Dunki in an interview with Indianexpress.com. He predicts that the movie will be "remembered for the next 10 years."
He said, "Raju Hirani is an entire film school; working with him is like a film institute." He also revealed that working with the filmmaker teaches everything one needs to know about filmmaking. "His casting doesn’t get over in a month; it goes on for 2 years because that man eats, breathes, and sleeps films," Mukesh added.
Talking about the film, Mukesh said, “When I read the script of Dunki, I was blown away. If you loved 3 idiots, Dunki is going to be 100 times better than that. I cried every time I read the script. Everytime!”
The casting director further added that, according to him, Dunki will shatter all records. He calls the film "the purest style of cinema", similar to how people remember Do Aankhen Barah Haath and the films of Anand and Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
About Dunki
The eagerly-awaited Dunki, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is scheduled to be released during the Christmas weekend. Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu are among the other actors who feature in the movie.
The film is based on illegal immigration using a method called 'Donkey Flight'. This film, written by Kanika Dhillon, is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 22.
