Emily Blunt's performance as Katherine 'Kitty' Oppenheimer in Christoper Nolan's Oppenheimer, with many even reckoning that she is a frontrunner to take home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Blunt exudes great control and conviction to wade through a rather difficult role and those who have watched the film will attest to the fact she does not allow the heavy-weight presence around her (in Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, etc.) overwhelm her.
The Quiet Place actress is evidently in the form of her life at the moment and her fans will be able to see her donning another compelling character (hopefully) in David Yates’ crime drama Pain Hustlers.
When and where to watch Pain Hustlers on OTT
Pain Hustlers is based on the Evan Hughes novel of the same name and the film has its maiden premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2023. It will have a limited theatrical release in the United States on October 20, 2023, before having its worldwide premiere on October 27, exactly a week after, on Netflix. Pain Hustlers comes as a Netflix original to make it Chris Evans’ second release with the streamer following the 2022 film The Gray Man.
What is Pain Hustlers about?
The 40-year-old British actress will be joined by Chris Evans, Andy Garcia, Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass and others and the story follows Blunt’s character of Liza Drake, a single mother who must do anything possible to provide herself and her daughter a better life. Things do take a promising turn when she lands a job in a failing pharmaceutical company, only to reveal a criminal conspiracy that she finds herself neck-deep in.
As the trailer of the film suggests, there is a certain kind of nervous energy about the narrative that one commonly finds in 'conspiracy' capers but alongside, one also spots doses of humour, drama, glamour and a whole lotta plot twists and turns.
