For the uninitiated, the post was about Poonam Pandey succumbing to cervical cancer. In no time, the news about her ‘death’ went viral, even though there were many who were speculating that this could just be a promotional campaign for the upcoming World Cervical Cancer Day. Well, as it turns out, Poonam Pandey is very much alive and she has uploaded a video to reveal it all.

The model and actress took to social media and posted, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.”

She went on to add that, unlike some other cancers, cervical cancer is entirely preventable and that the key to this was in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. She added that we have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease and she also told everyone to empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman was informed about the steps to take.

Towards the end, Poonam Pandey wrote, “Visit the link in the bio to delve deeper into what can be done. Together, let’s strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer”.
