Plot of Rest in Peace

Rest in Peace follows the story of Sergio, a family man, who is cornered by debt and needs to pay up or lose his family to a worse fate. But fate offers him a chance to make up for his mistake. When Sergio is lost among the chaos of a horrible bomb blast in the city, the authorities and his wife assume the worst, especially as no one was found.

Unbeknownst to them, however, Sergio is very much alive. He knew what would happen if he went back to his family after surviving the bomb on his way to face the gaping loan shark with empty hands. They would be delighted to see him, sure, but would that delight soon not fade into anger, resentment, and embarrassment when Hugo Brener, the powerful man he owes money to, knocks on the door?

So he lets them think he is dead and escapes to a different country, where he begins life anew as Nicholas. That way, his family’s debt will be forgiven, and they can live in peace. But his heart keeps yearning for home and family. What happens when, years later, decaying health and the fear of missing out bring him back to town? Is danger still lurking? And more importantly, will his family forgive him? As a powerful drama thriller, Rest in Peace demands a watch.
