With Lover stepping into its second week of theatrical run, the film has been getting good reviews across the audience. In the latest, filmmaker Selvaraghavan took to his X handle (formerly Twitter), to appreciate the film.

What did Selvaraghavan say about Lover?
Taking to his social media handle to say he watched Lover, Selvaraghavan wrote, "Loved it. Terrific portrayal of this generation love. After few min I forgot I was watching a movie. So realistic. Brilliant performances from Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya. Written & directed by Vyaaaas Brilliant job !"
To this, Prabhuram shared the post and replied, “Thank you Selvaraghavan sir ! This means sooo much!!”
It is to be noted that Selvaraghavan has helmed many classic romantic films Kaadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony, and Mayakkam Enna. In conversation with OTTplay earlier , Prabhuram when asked about the rise of debutants in Tamil cinema recently, said, “I think it is a recurring trend. In 2000s, Selvaraghavan sir, Gautham Menon sir, SJ Suryah sir came. In 2010, Pa Ranjith, Karthik Subbaraj came up. Tamil cinema has always seen such wave of new voices time and again. So, every time when a filmmaker comes as a product of that era, they could capture and reflect that period.”
How did the cast react?
Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya also thanked Selvaraghavan for appreciating the film. Calling that Selvaraghavan has been a “great inspiration” to make a film like Lover, Manikandan said, “It feels so so happy to know loved our film.” Sri Gouri Priya also called the filmmaker as one of her favourite directors and said his message was special.
“Thank you so much @selvaraghavan sir I’m a big fan of your films, your appreciation means a lot to me,” wrote Kanna Ravi.
What is Lover about?
Lover is modern day take on relationships and romance among the youngsters. The film stars Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya as lovers who have a number of differences between them as they try to navigate their young adult life. The film opened for Valentine’s Day weekend in theatres and received positive reviews.
