Shilpa Shetty, on a recent visit to Rajasthan, tried working a chakki, or a traditional flour grinder. The amount of workout it provided the fitness queen’s arm took her by surprise.
Shilpa Shetty is currently enjoying her successful OTT debut in Rohit Shetty’s Prime Original Series Indian Police Force, in which she plays a tough and stern senior cop. The actress had recently been to Rajasthan and posted a motivating an ecdote from her stay. Shetty took to her Instagram and uploaded a reel with a small story in its caption.
In the caption, the actress reminisced that on her last visit to Rajasthan, she came across a chakki and just knew she “had to do it” aka give the old way of grinding flour a try. Shilpa Shetty is a fitness queen who consistently works out and eats healthy but even she exclaimed while penning, “oh my God! What a workout!”
She further connected the fond memory with the wonder of Chakki Chalasana, a form of arm workout that increases the flexibility of hamstring and back muscles, strengthens the arms, stimulates the reproductive organs, and improves digestion. However, amidst all the fancy terms for simple yoga asanas, the actress did not forego crediting her roots as well as developing a healthy amount of respect for those who work the chakki regularly.
The reel also showed the actress enjoying the experience as well as doing decently well at working the chakki. Shilpa Shetty advised people to avoid practicing the asana if they suffer from slip-disc, back pain, or if they are pregnant. She ended the caption by asking netizens if they have worked on a chakki before and to share it.
