A flash flood in Teesta, the river in North Bengal, wreaked havoc in Sikkim, owing to a cloudburst. A part of NH 10 is washed away. Many people are killed and many more, including soldiers, remain missing. In this dire situation, Antara Nandy of the Nandy Sisters was stuck in Sikkim. She went to Gangtok to perform at an event.

She went to a cultural event at Sikkim University with her mother. She made a reel on the MG Marg Road in Gangtok on Tuesday. But then Sikkim got devastated by the heavy rain that went on from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning. They were supposed to take the flight from Bagdogra but got stuck because NH 10 was washed away.

Antara posted a video where she said, “We came to know that the only road has been damaged due to the cloudburst. We tried to contact the college but failed. We also could not inform our house. I don’t know what to do.” She also gave an interview with the Times of India where she said, “The college helped us to go to Darjeeling on Thursday. After a long journey, we were finally able to reach home.”

Antara said that they were fine and at home. Her sister Ankita is having an examination in Poona.

Raktabeej’s new song, Nakku Nakur Na Jao Thakur, was released on October 6. It was sung by the Nandy sisters. Antara reached Kolkata to join the launching event, bearing the trauma from Sikkim.
