The contents of the trailer and the plot of The Casagrandes Movie

The Casagrandes Movie follows a maturing Ronnie Anne, who is turning 12 and is excited to spend her entire summer with her friends in Great Lakes City. However, on the day of her birthday party, she gets the biggest surprise and shock of her life. They are going on a trip to Mexico for the whole summer, right then. She is upset at the thought of having to leave all her friends behind with zero notice and sulking for not being asked about this beforehand.

But once in Mexico, she had mixed feelings. On one hand, she wants to go on her own adventures instead of being stifled by her mother; on the other, she would rather be back home, away from the creepy yet cool mountain near her abuela’s place that is said to imprison an evil demigod, Punguari. But when she embarks on a solo adventure, after asserting some independence, she ends up cracking open the mystical prison accidentally and releasing Punguari.

Now she must reconnect with her family and get all the help she can get to stop the demigod from gaining all its powers and becoming a malevolent god who will destroy their serene Mexican valley. Not too shabby for one’s 12th birthday. Since ‘Casagrandes’ means ‘big house’, here the Santiago family members become home for one another in all times of distress and danger, reinforcing the core values of love and familial bonding.
