The Umbrella Academy Season 4: New characters and villains teased
In a cast featurette, Emmy Raver-Lampman—who plays Allison Hargreeves—said that it's really, really packed with classic Umbrella Academy family nonsense and shenanigans that people look forward to. It's absolutely thrilling to see the introduction of some incredible new villains and characters. The actor who plays Diego Hargreeves describes Season 4 as his favourite season.
As the beloved characters prepare to brave the elements, they have included nine new character posters and other teasers to give viewers a sneak peek at what's to come. Jean and Gene Thibedeau, the new characters that Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman are playing, make their debut in this scene. How come Allison's Love on Loan, a film she directed, received $5,000 from a married couple of cordial Midwestern community college lecturers? Do they really enjoy exclusive garage sales? Until the formal meeting with Gene and Jean on August 8, the viewers will simply have to speculate.

Challenges in the alternate universe
The previous season introduced a major plot point: Reginald (Colm Feore), the family patriarch, has created a parallel universe where the siblings have lost their abilities. The stakes are bigger than ever before in this alternate timeline, and that's not the only strange thing about it. They have new opponents who want them dead, but they can't fight them without their abilities. Will the siblings ever receive them back?
Reginald, who rewired the cosmos in the Season 3 finale, has dictated this alternate history. Blackman teased Tudum in August 2022, hinting about Season 4 and saying that he didn't get the chance to finish what he started because of Allison's actions. So, this timeline isn't going to be completely normal with the siblings' powers going out.
