Tiger 3 out on OTT - Sanjay Gupta thinks the Salman Khan actioner would have done better had it released before Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, here’s why

The year 2023 was a year of theatrical successes as the great Khans of Bollywood like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan delivered impeccable performances. Tiger 3 is finding a wider audience after it officially landed on Amazon’s streaming platform. The anticipated movie was released in 2023 and carried the Tiger spy verse forward. Filmmaker and producer Sanjay Gupta reflected on the key points between Tiger 3 and Jawan. Here’s why he lauded the latter while comparing the two films.

Tiger 3 vs Jawan

The action stalwart of Indian cinema, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is drawing a stark comparison between Atlee’s Jawan which garnered millions and crossed the 1000-crore mark within a few weeks of its release to Maneesh Sharma's directorial Tiger 3. He lauded filmmaker Atlee’s meticulous directing skills that he puts in each shot and said that things would have been different if Tiger 3 released before SRK-starrer Jawan.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Gupta wrote, “I strongly feel that had TIGER 3 come before JAWAN things would have been different”.

Praising his craft that led to sour new heights, the Shootout at Lokhandwala director added, “It’s just that Atlee set a whole new benchmark with every scene he shot”.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif returned in their action avatars with the third installment of the Yash Raj Spyverse Tiger 3 and captured the audience with their stellar performance. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 chronicles the story of the titular Tiger with his wife Zoya (Katrina Kaif) as they race against time to fight and protect their family against the evil antagonist player by Emraan Hashmi.
