The most recent reports state that Turbo, one of Mammootty's much awaited films, will open in theatres on May 9. According to reports, the legendary actor will be back in an 'Achayan' role in Turbo, which is helmed by Vysakh.

Mammootty's home banner, Mammootty Kampany, is funding the project, which is written by writer-director Midhun Manuel Thomas and stars Telugu actor Sunil, Kannada actor-director Raj B Shetty, and Antony Varghese Pepe in pivotal roles.

All about Turbo

The recent post by Mammootty Kampany regarding the conclusion of the shoot is being interpreted by Mammootty fans and moviegoers as a major clue regarding the film's theatrical release soon. More information about the movie should be released soon, if the rumours are to be believed.

With Bramayugam, his most recent film, having a huge opening, the Malayalam megastar is currently experiencing a high rate of success. It has been verified through Mammootty Kampany's recent social media post that the filming of Turbo is now complete. The project's crew and actors have confirmed that the last scheduled shooting location was Chennai, as previously reported. According to sources, the team filmed several of the film's high-stakes action scenes in Tamil Nadu's capital.

Midhun Manuel Thomas calls Turbo an action comedy

The writer recently disclosed in an interview with Club FM 94.3 that the Mammootty starrer will be an action comedy, with the script having initially been pitched to Vysakh.

Midhun said, "No, they are two different scripts," in response to the question of whether the Jayasurya-starring Turbo Peter is connected to Mammootty's Turbo. "The only name from the original script that we used was Turbo. After Turbo is released, more information regarding Jayasurya's Turbo Peter script will become available," he remarked.

Fans were drawn in by Mammootty's Turbo's first poster, which had a powerful impression. In 2018, Midhun declared that he would be working with actor Jayasurya on Turbo Peter, with filming set to begin in 2019. But when the movie's production failed to materialise, the two decided to change course and think about collaborating on Aadu 3 first.
