What If…? Season 2 to hit Disney+ in 2023, Marvel reportedly confirms a release window

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been trying to find a hook with the new era that it has entered in, the shows on Disney+ are now slowly becoming canon, and the two worlds are merging faster than we thought. But outside the realm, a non-canon show has piqued the curiosity of the fandom, and they cannot wait to watch the second season already. Yes, we are talking about What If…?, and turns out now there is an update on season 2 which says the show will hit our screens by the end of 2023.

For the unversed, the show that looked at the endless possibilities and what it could mean in different timelines was one of its kind experiment by the studio, and one that did work in their favor. Soon after the first season aired in 2021, the makers had confirmed that there would be a season 2, and it was speculated that it would air in 2022. 

But as there was no sign of What If…? Season 2 in 2022, numerous rumors and speculations started circling on the internet, and it was even said that the show had been scrapped by the Marvel bosses. But turns out nothing is true about those rumors, and the show is indeed returning to Disney+ with the new season.

The studio has now reportedly confirmed that What If…? Season 2 will indeed release this year itself, and they have even confirmed a window. As per Comic Book Movie, the studio has said that the show will hit Disney+ “This Holiday Season”. While there is no date attached as of yet, there is a summary of the second season. The synopsis reads, The Watcher continues the journey as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand-new and familiar faces throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
