Mid Day reported that the actor, who is now in Prayagraj filming Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi, will start filming Prem Ki Shaadi in October, according to industry insiders.

Prem Ki Shaadi which Barjatya had imagined starring Khan, never materialised. Instead of going back to that idea, the director has written a new screenplay. An insider told the tabloid that the film that Khan and Barjatya had discussed is different. This script is brand new. While being faithful to the family values that characterise the banner produces, the team aims to modernise Prem for today's age.

Production kick-starts in Mumbai

Production on the movie has already begun. Preparations for the first scheduled filming have started on the elaborate sets in Mumbai.

A member of the crew has stated that they are working with three art teams simultaneously. Meticulous craftsmanship is evident in both sets; one depicts a temple courtyard and the other a grand mansion. Table reads will begin for the actors at the end of September.

The sets are being constructed at Chitrakoot Grounds in Andheri and Ellora Studios in Mira Road. This film's laser-like focus on detail and genuine feel are hallmarks of Barjatya's work, which fuses monumentality with heartfelt storytelling grounded in Indian traditions.
