Bollywood Hungama reported that Janhvi Kapoor is all set to step into the shoes of her mother, as the actress was offered the official remake of Chaalbaaz. "For Janhvi, Chaalbaaz is a lot more than just a film. It's an emotion. She has jumped onto the chance of playing the lead role in Chaalbaaz, but is treading this with utmost caution," the source shared with the portal.

The source further told the portal that Janhvi doesn't just want to cash in on her mother's inheritance. The actress is taking opinions from people around for the Chaalbaaz remake. "She is excited, but is also wary of all the comparisons. She is expected to take a call on the Chaalbaaz remake by the end of September," the source shared.

About Chaalbaaz

Chaalbaaz is a 1989 Hindi film about identical twin sisters, Anju and Manju, separated at birth by a nanny. Both Anju and Manju were played by the late actress Sridevi. The plot follows Anju, who is raised in luxury but terrorized by her wicked uncle and aunt, while Manju grows up in a slum, becoming a feisty, street-smart dancer. When they accidentally switch places, Manju's newfound freedom and Anju's simple attempts to navigate the slum environment create hilarious confusion and an opportunity for revenge against the villains.
