Talking exclusively to OTTplay after he had completed the first schedule of the Bakkiyaraj Kannan-directorial Benz, which has Raghava Lawrence in the titular role, the Sarvam Maya actor says, “It’s a great film to be part of. LCU has been about creating different, unique characters who always have a chance of returning in other movies that are part of the franchise.”
Nivin plays the villain named Twin Fish Walter in the movie, which has black humour. “Because the character had this base of dark humour and needed a particular swag throughout the movie, I had this space to try out different iterations. I could push it to any extent, especially because I wasn’t playing the hero. So, it was more about discussing in depth with the director, being in sync with him and then carrying on,” he explains.
The movie will mark Nivin’s third straight Tamil movie after Richie and the yet-to-be-released Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, which was helmed by National Award-winning director Ram.
Meanwhile, in Malayalam, Nivin has wrapped up the shoot of Prathichaya and Dear Students, and is currently working on Premalu director Girish AD’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. The entertainer, which also has Mamitha Baiju, Sangeeth Pratap and Vinay Fort, is expected to be an Onam 2026 release.
The actor’s next release will be B Unnikrishnan’s Prathichaya , a thriller that has him essaying the role of a CM’s son who enters the fray to expose a conspiracy in the cut-throat world of politics. The movie, which also has Ann Augustine, Sharafudheen, Balachandra Menon and Saikumar, is set to hit theatres on March 26, 2026.
