Though the movie failed to make a mark at the box office after its theatrical release, the makers would be hoping that it gets a second lease of life after its OTT release on Sony LIV on October 20.

The thriller, which is co-scripted by Srinivasan Abrol and the director based on a story by Aparna R Tarakad, had completed shoot earlier this year. Asif Ali essays the role of an investigative journalist in the movie, which revolves around Aparna Balamurali’s character Abhirami trying to uncover the secrets that her fiance Kiran had apparently kept hidden before he was killed in a train accident.
Hakkim plays the role of Kiran in the movie, which also has Sampath, Deepak Parambol and former Bigg Boss Malayalam runner-up Arjun Syam Gopan essaying pivotal characters. The movie could also appeal to the Tamil audience as it has a story set in Tamil Nadu and the characters speak the language for an extended period of time in the Malayalam movie.
Though the general consensus is that it’s among the weakest thrillers helmed by Jeethu Joseph, who had also directed Neru and Memories, it’s still packed with twists and turns that could keep the audience entertained, especially in the second half.
Both Asif and Aparna had previously teamed up in Kishkinda Kaandam, which is currently streaming on JioHotstar available via OTTplay Premium, and the duo once again doesn’t disappoint with their performances in Mirage — as much as the writing allows them to.
