Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's much-awaited and long-delayed film is Ram, which is helmed by his Drishyam 3 director Jeethu Joseph. Updates about Ram’s impending shoots surface every now and then, while there were also concerns that the movie could be shelved. But the noted director, whose latest release is Valathu Vashathe Kallan, has said that Ram would be taken up on a priority basis as things are ‘serious’ this time.

When will Mohanlal’s Ram re-start

Starring Mohanlal in the lead, Ram was announced way back in 2019. But due to the pandemic and various issues, the movie Ram has been facing setbacks. During a recent interview with Reporter Live, Jeethu Joseph said that the film would be resumed soon.

“Serious discussions about Ram are happening now. If god willing, there is a chance that Ram could resume next month. This time, it is pretty serious,” said Jeethu Joseph.

“Both Lal sir and Antony (Perumbavoor) have openly said that this is a priority project,” the director said, adding that they have promised that the dates would be allotted whenever he sought.

Jeethu Joseph is also scripting the project, which was conceived as a two-part film. Popular Tamil actress Trisha plays the female lead in the film, along with Indrajith Sukumaran, Durga Krishna, and others. Earlier reports had said that around 80 per cent of the shoot was completed, but the film landed in financial trouble, which has led to the delay.

In these years, Mohanlal and Jeethu JOseph have collaborated on several popular films, including Drishyam 2, legal drama Neru and thriller 12th Man.

Another thriller, Valathu Vashathe Kallan revolves around a police officer, who is not on the right side of the law. When a woman is found brutally murdered, the victim’s father deduces the cop’s role and sets out to prove the truth.
