Spark teaser: Niranjan Sudhindra prepares for the big fight for truth

Spark, directed by debutant Mahantesh Handral, has Niranjan Sudhindra in the role of a journalist, who’s prepared to face all evil in his search for the truth

Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Real Star Upendra has quite a few films lined up, one of which, Spark, has him in the role of a journalist. On the young actor’s birthday on August 20, the team revealed a first look teaser of the film, introducing his character, Abhiram, a journalist who will not be fazed in the face of adversity and other obstacles in his search for the truth. That’s the gist of the teaser, which also features the actor landing a few mean kicks and declaring that he is prepared to go to war too for the people.

Spark is based on real incidents

Spark is the directorial debut of Mahantesh Handral, who served as associate on a slew of films, including James, Bharaate, etc. The film, which has been shot in and around Bengaluru is said to be an action thriller based on real-life incidents. Spark, which pairs Niranjan with Love Mocktail fame Rachana Inder, was launched in March this year. There’s no update on the film’s current status or when it is likely to be in theatres.

During the launch, Niranjan had said that what excited him about the film was that he would get to play a journalist, a profession that he believes leads the spark in any issue. The film has music by Sachin Basrur and cinematography by Ashwin Kennedy.

Meanwhile, Niranjan’s next release, which comes three years after his last, Namma Hudugaru, will be Seetha Payana, a multi-lingual love story directed by Action King Arjun Sarjan and starring the actor-filmmaker’s daughter Aishwarya in the lead. Niranjan has several other projects in his kitty, most of which were announced a while ago, but have had no updates since, like, Superstar, Hunter and Q, among others.

Some of these films have had mandatory birthday teasers for the actor, but are yet to announce theatrical release dates. Super Star, for instance, was announced way back in 2020, while Hunter has been in the works since 2021.
