Youth actor Ken Karunaas: The debutant director-actor shared a message on social media a day before the film’s March 19 theatrical release.

Ken Karunaas’ Tamil film Youth is gearing up for release this week. With the film scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, Thursday, Ken took to social media a day before, to pen a heartfelt message on letting go of something that he had worked on for a long time. Here is what Ken Karunaas has to say about making Youth.

Youth: What did Ken Karunaas say about his first film?

In this week’s Tamil releases, family entertainer Youth is set to hit theatres. The film is written and directed by Ken Karunaas in his directorial debut and also acts in the lead role. Ahead of the release, Ken penned a long and emotional note about making of the film.

On X, Ken wrote, addressing cinema, “From the day I fell in love with it, everything else slowly became secondary. It wasn’t just something I watched… it became something I lived …I’m just 24… but from my childhood till now, this is the only thing that stayed with me…Through every phase, every doubt, every small dream… cinema never left my side.”

Expressing his disbelief that he no longer will be working on Youth and that film grew up to become his baby, Ken said that as a hero, he lived a 'beautiful story' and as a director, he found his own. He also said that many came together to make the film and expressed gratitude.

"I made this film keeping you in mind… always wondering how you would feel, where you would smile, where you would connect… And now… I’m letting it go…From something that was mine… to something that becomes yours. Take care of it… love it like I did… maybe even more. Hope it entertains you, stays with you, and gives you something beautiful to hold on to.”

What is Youth about?

Youth is about a 15-year-old school boy whose only ambition in life is to find true love. The film is a mix of romance, family sentiments, fun and drama. Anishma Anilkumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Nalini and Devadarshini are part of the cast. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
