What a remarkable return to form! Yashasvi Jaiswal not only sealed the victory with a boundary but also achieved a century in Match 38 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. With this century at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the 22-year-old Jaiswal recorded his second IPL hundred, making him the youngest player to achieve multiple IPL centuries. Interestingly, both of his centuries have come against MI.

Prior to this game, Rajasthan Royals were still a solid team, but their top order was not performing up to expectations. However, in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Jos Buttler found momentum, and now, against MI, Jaiswal regained his lost form. The home team secured victory by 9 wickets in the 18.4th over and continued to dominate the points table.

In the chase of 180 runs, Jos Buttler scored 35 off 25 before being dismissed by Piyush Chawla. However, no other MI bowler posed a threat as Jaiswal smashed 104 off 60, including 9 fours and 7 sixes, along with skipper Sanju Samson, who scored 38 off 28. MI could have claimed more wickets had they not dropped three catches.

Earlier, MI won the toss and chose to bat, managing to score just 179 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Rohit Sharma fell early to Trent Boult, while Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav fell victim to Sandeep Sharma's bowling. Mohammad Nabi was promoted up the order and appeared to be in good touch, but he was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, who became the first IPL player to pick 200 wickets in the process.
