Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar is currently in full swing of film promotions for her upcoming crime thriller, Bhakshak. The clock is ticking towards its release in the coming week of February. Based on true incidents, the crime film will unveil some horrific truths and secrets about a girl's shelter home in Muzaffarpur.
Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in the inspiring role of a determined female journalist called Vaishali Singh. The makers unveiled the compelling trailer on Wednesday and received a thumbs-up from the audience. Recently, the actress shared with the media how the film will stir your consciousness and what makes the role challenging yet close to her heart.
In a candid conversation about her experience as an investigative journalist, Bhumi Pednekar shared the challenges that arise during the journey of Bhakshak. She also lauded her camaraderie with ‘partner in crime’ Sanjay Mishra, who will be playing a cameraman in the film.

The journey of truth is never easy; hence, the character goes beyond threats and ultimatums to save the innocent victims from the predators. CID fame Srivastava will be playing a negative character and yesterday’s trailer gave a glimpse of his dark mind and ulterior motive.
“This film asks questions on a core level, which stirs the consciousness of a human being. Bahut courage lagta ha jo aap sawaal uthate hai,” Bhumi told ANI.
The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress also shared how the makers and the team are optimistic that the film will fervently shake up the core values of the viewers and leave them to make a life choice—whether they are part of the problem or aspire to be on the other side with the solution. She also spoke about the loss of innocence and child atrocities in society. Bhakshak strives to reflect on social problems and how we can become part of the change with compassion and empathy.
When asked about the rigorous profession of journalism and its core values, the Thank You for Coming actress clapped and appreciated the integrity and challenges faced by reporters while investigating their work.
