Cheeni: Bijaylaxmi Chatterjee to replace Indrani Bhattacharya in the serial? Here is what we know

It has already been reported that Indrani Bhattacharya will be replaced in the Star Jalsha serial, Cheeni. The serial that started about a month ago is yet to make a mark in the TRP list. Now, according to a report in Hindustan Times Bangla, it is Ranu Pelo Lottery-fame Bijaylaxmi Chatterjee who will be seen as the new lead in the serial.

Besides Ranu Pelo Lottery, Bijaylaxmi has also worked in Songsaar Sukher Hoye Romonir Gune, Dwiragomon, and so on. Interestingly, after working in Ranu Pelo Lottery opposite Krishal Ahuja, the actress took a long break. In that way, this will be a major comeback for her. If reports are to be believed, the actress will be seen in Cheeni from Monday onwards. In an interview with HT Bangla, she said, “It is not possible to comment on anything.”

The serial has taken a mysterious turn as the male lead Dron, played by Somraj Maity, gears up to get married, and Cheeni, the daughter of their driver and the family cook, hallucinates fire and death.  

Indrani became popular as Googly in the serial Khelna Bari. She just started her journey as Cheeni on Star Jalsa. Why is she getting replaced so soon? Efforts were made to contact the actress several times but she did not answer the calls. She did not reply to the messages either. The serial is produced by Sahana Dutta’s Missing Screw. Sahana is the writer, screenwriter, and the creative director of Cheeni. She was contacted but she said that she was busy. Cheeni streams on Disney+ Hotstar.
