Actor Rajinikanth, who is one of the top-tier actors in the country, was last seen in his daughter Aishwarya's directorial, Lal Salaam. The actor is currently busy shooting his next with filmmaker TJ Gnanavel. Titled Vettaiyan, the filming is taking place at a brisk pace.
Now, a new clip has been going rounds on social media with the actor seen wearing a cop uniform. The clip has taken social media by storm, with the film trending all over.
A viral video taken from the sets of Vettaiyan has been circulating all over social media. The clip shows the actor reaching the shooting spot of the film, with scores of fans gathered to get a glimpse of the superstar. Rajinikanth is seen waving at his fans as he wears the cop uniform. He is then escorted by his security personnel inside a building.
Vettaiyan is one of the big-budget, star ensemble films that has been in the making in the Tamil film industry. While the makers have remained tight-lipped about the project, the recent clip has given us the cue that we can see Rajinikanth in a cop avatar soon. The actor last donned the khaki uniform in Jailer in which he played a jail warden and in Darbar in which he essayed the role of Aaditya Arunasalam (Rajinikanth), the commissioner of Mumbai Police.
Vettaiyan is written and directed by filmmaker TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. While Jai Bhim was highly appreciated for its sensitive take on custodial violence, it would be interesting to watch what the director has to offer with the Rajinikanth-starrer.
The film features a star ensemble including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan, among others. Backed by Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by SR Kathir. Philomin Raj serves as the editor. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
